Tonkatsu and Katsudon Recipe – Pork Cutlet Bowl 【カツ丼レシピ】

Katsudon (also knows as Pork Cutlet Bowl in English) is the embodiment of Japanese Soul food! Learn how to make Tonkatsu and Katsudon here!

This is actually simpler than it looks, it’s just a bit more time-consuming. First, you have to make the Tonkatsu, the fried pork cutlets. We’re talking breading, frying and everything. THEN you have to make the donburi, which is a mixture of onions, mirin, soy sauce, dashi and eggs. THEN you have to assemble it. But don’t worry, if you don’t have time to do it yourself, you can at least take a look here and see how it is done!

You need:

Pork cutlets
Flour
Egg
Panko
Oil
Frying pan
Dashi
Mirin
Soy sauce
More eggs
